I am into video games very much. I have been playing videogames since i was a little child and i really enjoyed them. I especially like retro game and this is the main reason i decided to buy the Atari Lynx 2. It is a great video game console even though compared to today's consoles. I have a couple of games which i enjoyed playing on the system and i intend to buy even more. I choose the Atari Lynx because of its innovative features like the fact that is the first colorful handheld console as well as the restart option-not many handheld consoles have this characteristic. I also liked the possibility the system gives to left - handed players since you can flip the screen. Another thing i enjoyed is the backlit option which gives the player the oportunity to play in the dark. The only problem i encountered with the Lynx is the power consumption since i need to buy batteries every two or three days. That's why i bought an ac adaptor. Generally its an overall great experience for me to buy and play with the Atari Lynx and i would encourage everyone who is interested in retro games to buy one.Read full review
I simply love the Atari Lynx. The first 16 bit handheld console, in a time of 8 bit GameBoys. It's a very sleek looking gadget, and easy to hold. Battery life with today's AAs is quite impressive, and while the colour backlight LCD may look washed out compared to today's screen tech, it's still clear and crisp enough for all the detail of the games. A stand out title for me is Block-Out, a Tetris contender which uses wireframe 3D shapes and looks surprisingly modern. The feel of the device is sturdy, and neat touches include rubber pads on the back for grip and protection, the innovative curved cart design which makes insertion and removal super easy, and most uniquely, the screen flip mode, to enable left handed players to play with the buttons reversed. The lynx I bought was in particularly good repair, obviously well cared for, and that really helps to enhance the nostalgic play experience. While the Atari Lynx may not have had the killer apps like Sonic the Hedgehog or Mario, it still had some good titles that provided plenty of distraction. Awesome Golf is a particularly charismatic PGA Tour Golf-like game, with a cartoon gopher as your caddy. If you were a Sega or Nintendo kid and appreciate a good handheld device, give the Atari Lynx a try today.Read full review
