This aerial is fantastic. Previously I tried a tall dipole "rabbit ears" indoor aerial, then a smaller powered amplified indoor dipole antenna. The simple dipole was OK but very sensitive to position and to atmospheric changes. I could not reliably get both standard and HD channels, it tended to be one or the other. The amplified antenna was hopeless, it couldn't even grab any HD freeview channels. I tried this August DTA430 as a bit of a last resort and have to admit one factor in choosing it is that it's pale and transparent and not nearly so ugly and obtrusive as similar items. I tried it in three different positions and it worked pretty well in the first two. The third time I found the best place and I now have 150 channels of Freeview SD and HD and Radio. They are all crystal clear. Brilliant! btw if you have metal window frames don't position it on the window pane or sill, attach it somewhere further inside the room. The metal frames seem to kill the antenna's ability to grab a signal.Read full review
