The heater works well and with it's dual energy source ideal for heating rooms without radiators. I can use electricity during daytime, when I get cheap electricity from the photo voltaic panels on the roof. During dark times, the gas works well. But: I find the gas smell irritating and sometimes too strong. It got better after 1 week of use, though. I find the turning off leaver on the gas cylinder unpractical, and would wish for a better on/off solution and a better dial at the top. The instructions are not ideal, but ok. One of the two heaters I bought is a bit tricky to switch on. I hope it will get better with more use. I have these heaters for a good week now, so my experience is limited. The speed of delivery was absolutely amazing. I ordered Friday just before 2pm, and got them delivered Saturday morning! The packaging was good.Read full review

I needed a new fire as the old one I had needed a service and figured it would be cheaper and easier to get a new one Even at first it was tricky to light the pilot light, several presses of the button would be needed and once lit it sometimes took a long while for the main panel to light up, several times I've had to blow gently on the panel for it to catch. Still, it did light and did throw out a nice amount of heat. Then the bottle ran out of gas...... Changed the bottle and now the pilot light is acting as if there isn't enough oxygen in the room, the flame is not lit at the bottom and this is the tell tale sign of not enough oxygen, even though the window is wide open. No amount of pressing the button will light it enough for the thermocouple to provide the electricity to switch the main valve on to allow the main panel to light. Of course it may well be the gas in the bottle as it got worse after changing the bottle but I've had dozens of bottles with no problems and I've never heard of anyone else with gas problems. Because of this I unfortunately can't recommend this, not even worth sending it back as it'll cost a fortune to send back, better off paying a bit more to get a fire locally so at least you can take it back if there is a problemRead full review

I bought this for my grandparents who swear by using this type of fire I. Their dining room. After many years of running out of gas at unsociable times and constant use of a fire older than me (30+ years) I seen this and with the electric heater too, I knew cold nights without gas are going to be a thing of the past! As we all know electricity is more expensive however it makes for a great backup and actually it heats up VERY fast! Installation was easy, plenty of length on the power cable and the gas line had a pre installed regulator, no messing about. Simply plug and play! If I had any issue it would be nice if their was a matching fireguard to stop the dog burning her tail but I have made my own for now. I will be buying a second one for my workshop I like them so much!

When built this is a good looking fire and can slide away conveniently when not in use you would be fooling yourself if you think you would be able to take the screws out and collapse it down again. It is folded flat for shipping to take up less room and once built should be left that way. Building is more difficult than I imagined and if I was unwell or arthritic or generally weak ( or in a cold house) then fitting of the gas hoses would be almost impossible as you do need brute strength to push them home and twist and turn the gas reducer into place. I had to walk away from it several times before finally getting it to fit. Not something you can leave half done as it is gas safety. Now it is finally built it is a lot easier to ignite than our previous heater and I would buy one as long as you understand that building it will take time and effort.Read full review

the only thing i dont like is the mark it leaves on front of chrome when igniting it . its easy to rub off its just a small inconvenience. I turn my central heating off after tea to save money and only put 1 panel on heater . i leave kitchen door open and hall door open and it heats it all . i wish i had bought one last year because it saves a lot of money on heating bills .
