If you are interested in Eric Clapton as a musician then this album is for you - it charts his work through the Cream (Sunshine of Your Love, Badge) through Blind Faith (Presence of the Lord) and, of course, Derek and the Dominos (Layla, Bell Bottom Blues), passing through 461 Ocean Boulevard (Let it Grow, I shot the Sherrif) and into his solo career with the timeless Woderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven and My Father's Eyes. With music which is almost ballad-like through to the heavy riviting guitar riffs of Laylay this album charts the development of the master of the fretboard. "Slowhand" as he is known, is, to my way of thinking, best portrayed in his lovely Layla (Unplugged) when the real feeling of the song itself radiates. Patti must have been thrilled to have such a song written about her. If you are already a Clapton Fan this album is a great, wide-spectrum compilation of his work with all the favourites; if you haven't listened to Clapton (and I guess ther must be someone out there in that category) this album will take you by the hand through 4 decades of rock and pop. bought for a christmas present for a mad clapton fan, this has all the songs you know and more from the great man himself, this is a must for any fan of his music as you will have all the songs on one album, a great christmas present if you are stuck for a present idea excellent in every way
