Great hutch for my 2 guinea pigs, bit tricky to put together I didn't find the 'Picture instructions' extremely clear but got it together in the end. There is quite a gap at the top of the ladder between the wood of the ladder and the wood of the top platform. Guinea pigs feet keep dropping through it but they are OK an will get used to it. The trays that you pull out to clean have two layers of materials (please excuse me being uneducated about this but I'm assuming it's some type of insulin?) Which are clearly supposed to slot in the gab of the wood all the way around. Well it doesn't, causing a lot of lumps and bumps throughout the tray meaning everything is going underneath it getting stuck, also meaning more regular cleaning. That's the only reason I've rated it 4 start otherwise it would deserve a 5. Great quality, the cover is faultless and the locks on the doors are excellent and easy to use (especially for my little helpers) I would definitely recommend, but I would also consider that material that doesn't fit properly into the trays.Read full review

We bought this for our 2 guinea pigs. It looks bigger in the photos than in reality. There is no way a rabbit could live in it. The internal ramp opening uses up almost half of the upstsirs/living space. I thought my 12 year old would be able to move it around the garden each day for new grass but it's too difficult for her to pick up & I struggle a bit too. As the downstairs grass area is so small we've ended up putting this hutch inside a bigger run & leave the downstairs door open for them. This works quite well, they can hide away from cats and keep warm & dry when it's raining/windy. It was easy to put together & instructions were clear & simple. The wood on the back top corner (connecting roof to base) split when I screwed it together but it's held.

This was easy to build (and we are not DIY types!) and the quality of the latches etc is really good. Its compact and the pull out tray makes cleaning quick. The only issue I have is the older guinea pig seems wary of the stairs, he is nearly 7 yrs but has no mobility problems. I don't know why this is. The younger one - 2 years, is up and down the stairs. Hopefully the older pig will gain confidence in time. Happy with the cage which so far seems much better value than the hutches we have bought from pets at home.

Ordered hutch and was advised of delivery dates and kept updated which was good. Only took a couple of days and was free so very pleased. Arrived and decided to paint before building. Instructions are basic but common sense helps. I liked that screw packed had letters so you could quickly see which to use. I agree that perhaps boxing of one or both of lower sides can be useful. Shavings come out quite easily. I personally am going to get clear sheets and pop in so is still light but keep mess in. I have added smaller chicken wire over front bars I case of rats etc. ( took pics before I added ) Pull out trays ok. Perhaps a touch deeper would help. Bit of a gap on top draw, but nothing's perfect. Ramp is a bit slippy but you can add grip or pets will be fine with confidence. Gap at top can be addressed but hasn't been issue for my piggies. Space at bottom is to allow draw removal when cleaning and isn't issue. Nice height for bunnies. When fixing locks, ensure you leave gap in between or it will stop you opening/shutting one. (If that makes sense) Overall I'm pleased with hutch. I'm using for my Guinea pigs and they love it. My daughters and I actually sit watching piggies exploring for ages. They seem more confident and it's easy to see them move about hutch which is nice. I built alone in about 2hrs. Doing alone was bit fiddly at start but I managed. It was the painting prior that took ages. A good half day. Luckily I had nice weather and space outside. Left to dry before build. Free cover does the job. I'd recommend.Read full review

We have kept our 2 guinea pigs inside since we got them, but the smell was sometimes really bad so we decided to go for an outside hutch instead. I couldn't be happier with this hutch. It's a good size, appears well made and was easy to build. The free cover was a bonus. Our piggies seem content although they have chewed parts of the inside already, so more toys needed but overall very happy with our purchase.
