Cheap and cheerful, does the job but could do with a spindle lock on it, everytime you want to change wheels its a 2 spanner job to 1) lock the spindle and 2) another spanner to undo the Colette, variable speed would have been good also - but for what it cost its very very basic, its like a 25yr old tool thats been found unused and brand new.

Pros: It's cheap! Cons: The collet was not made correctly (only 3 slits, not 4), the main shaft was already rusty on delivery, have to use 2 spanners to change bits so can't hold grinder still, the main nut to hold the bearing / driveshaft in was loose, toggle switch not trigger, front section gets quite hot in use (gloves required), speed not totally consistent (hopefully will improve as brushes bed in, makes clicking noise when tuned by hand (see previous hope!). Did I mention it was cheap?!

I've waited before commenting on this die grinder 101730 by Katsu so that I could see whether it would rapidly deteriorate with occasional DIY use and it hasn't. It's proved to be very useful indeed and I find myself turning to it over and over again when I come to those awkward difficult to get at things. It has a high rpm/performance and can destroy a tiny wire mop. It's been good for chassis details for example but I used it today on cylinder head valve seats so that I could then clean them with solvent and dye them to inspect cracks. Yesterday I used it to enlarge a bolt hole into a slot. It's a meatier beast altogether than the Dremel. In short I'm glad I tried one. There are spare brushes with it. The carboard box could have been longer. I've now resorted to keeping it in a zipper poly bag along with the two spanners, instructions and brushes, etc. Overall it's far better than I'd expected for the price. Read full review

Having used many professional electric grinders in my career, I find that this item is just as good as equipment four or five times the price. It is most certainly better than an air powered die grinder and is more efficient. My air compressor running costs are considerable when compared to this electric die grinder. It's a no brainer really. The only slight negative comments I have are about the positioning and type of on/off switch that is fitted. A slide type switch fitted to the body would be a safer fitment and a longer power chord would be more welcomed.
