    Practical and good value

    When my son left to pastures new, he didnt take his tank with him. It only had a couple of little fish left in it and I took them on. After a couple of years we were just down to one tiny tiny fish when disaster struck and a power cut blew the filter. To replace it would have been over £30 and this was reviewed as a good replacement - but less money! I didn't want to leave the poor thing airless but also didnt want to spend loads and find fishy had reached a natural end. Our tank is only small and it's a bit strong for said fish, but it is very good. I added more filter material based on reviews and there was a bit of guess work as there are no real instructions - but we got there and it does the job.

    Tank lip

    It is a good product but will not fit a tank that has an internal lip round the top of the tank, it just won’t fit, I had to modify my tank by cutting a piece out of my tank to get it to sit correctly, but the product works fine, just be aware of the hitch I have experienced,

    Quiet with great water movement

    Very good water flow and control. Very easy filter change system and also lots of room for additional media. Needed a small piece of sponge to help hang correctly on my small tank. Quiet as in pump and as long as water is kept topped up it has a quiet water fall feature. The skimmer also works well.

    Good replacement for fluval edge

    My fluval edge 23 had a hang on filter and the rotor and shaft had worn down making it extremely noisy. This one is basically exactly the same filter. It seems about the same flow if not more i dont know how many lph the fluval one is but its only 3w and this is 6w so hopefully its pulling through more water. Its dead quiet. Very easy to install. Fits in fluval edge housing like a glove which is the main reason I'm doing this review in case anyone is looking for a replacement like I was. Most importantly it cleans the tank. The filter pad provided is very small but theres room to add more, maybe a sponge and bio. I've only had it running for a few hours but I'm happy with the purchase

    Not bad for the price

    I was using a basic filter that needed cleaning every month, it didn't last long and the water was always murky even with regular changes, this filter has been in for a week and the water is cleaner than it's been in a while, you can customise the length of the pipe if you need to as if I had put it all together it would have been too long. My only criticism is that there are no instructions on how it works or how to put it together, I had to use the box as a guide. I assume the filter can be customised as you want it, whether you want to use bio rocks or carbon filters but the filter it comes with is easy to remove and replace, no having to take it apart and very little mess. The waterfall feature is brilliant too, Ag my goldfish, seems calmer now he doesn't have a gush of water blasting ...
