Good product at a reasonable price. Easy set up. Easy enough to use. Works well. Could be better if it was duel sata not single sata and pata would be outstanding.

For the price it's obviously a good value, however in my case (and for many others as I can see in the reviews), the usb cable is loose on the docking station side and very easily loses connection. That's dangerous for the data and even for the electronics of the device and HDD. But most of all the power cord, MUST be trashed for your SAFETY if, like in my case (and others... see the reviews), it causes sparks ion the the power supply side, and such sparks could easily: 1) Damage the drive electronics (controller) 2) Damage the power supply itself 3) Damage the docking station 4) Damage any other device (e.g. expensive telly) in the house because such sparks propagate transients (Voltage spikes) all over the house. 5) They could even start a fire if left unattended At first I didn't understand why the hard drive stopped working at random, then I heard the sparky noise and changed the power cable. The problem persisted because of the usb cable, so I changed it too. Now the docking station works reliably. I've tested 12 IDE PATA HDD: some Maxtor, some Seatages Barracuda, Samsung SpinPoint, HGST Deskstar: all fwere fitting quite easily into the connector without force. It's a bit more tricky to take them out but that's normal because of the nature of the PATA connector. The best technique is to pull a bit toward the left then a bit on the right and so on till it comes out. If pull it straight up you risk to make it fly on the ceiling when it finally lose grip :-) Not tested SATA drive yet but should be a breeze compared to the IDE PATA connectors. I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT AGAIN: first thing to do: power the device and listen for sparks where the power cord meet the power supply. Move it a bit to be sure it does not happen. If it happens, as is the case for many of us, trash the power cord and buy another one. Despite the cables are unuseable it is good value for money... and by the way I didn't manage to find any other better product that can handle IDE PATA HDD. Other products are the same of this one. Other products cost 60 pounds and internally are exactly the same electronics of this one, simply rebranded and repainted (you can still see the red if you open them! :-/ ). So this is definitely a good value and basically the only one on the market for IDE PATA HDD. Tested on LinuxRead full review

Looking at the pictures, I was concerned that it didn't seem to come with 2.5" inserts, but I needn't have worried, as the bays have adaptors built in. No drivers needed in Windows 10 and it worked right away. Useful way to transfer data between pulled drives. Only concern is that the plastic cases feels a bit thin, and only time will tell how it holds out. For the money, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

One of the best buys I have found on eBay....and for the price (£14.99). I think it's a bargain. Try it... you won't believe how easy it is to use.

2-5-3-5-Dual-Hard-Drive-HDD-Docking-Station is simple to setup. Easy to use. It was easy to extract files and photos from a very old hard drive. Brilliant !
