Excellent quality machine, exceeds my (high)expectations for vital crisp & accurate photo scans for printing or web using the various file scan sizes. Set up couldn't have been easier, best scanner I have purchased over the decades. Must have scanned around a couple of thousand multi-format negatives & prints over the last couple of weeks, makes buying a unit twice this price totally unnecessary! I don't normally do reviews, but just had to for this machine!

It cannot communicate with the computer wirelessly. With fewer external connectors on computers this means one less for external drives etc. Unfortunately, the accompanying software for converting a scan of text to actual text is for windows only and in general things are Windows oriented, but there is enough scope to connect to my iMAC. I have only had limited use so far, but found it quite satisfactory.

Easy to set up once software has been downloaded from the Epson website. Just plug into the mains and connect to a computer via usb. The scans take around 10 s for high resolution, although the quality can be specified each time. Comes with a holder for slides and film. A bit bulky, but that was to be expected as it can scan up to A4 size. Very pleased with the results.

Bought this in June 2020 to scan old family slides and photos that were just lying in a box. Once I had put the slides the right way around and the right way up it was really quick to work through them as the scanner takes four at a time. I used the 'Home' mode for slides and photos. It gives options to run Colour Restoration and the ICE option is excellent at removing scratches and marks. It allows you to save the resulting files (a choice of types is given) and I then cropped and adjusted some of them in Windows Photo Gallery. Overall I am very happy with the results

I love this scanner. I just set up my own art shop for producing Giclee prints and one of these scanners was a central requirement to that. I produce watercolor illustrations, acrylic photo print transfers, and collages on acrylic and gouache. I wasn't sure a scanner would manage the watercolors but this can, as long as you take the time to learn the setting differences. I adapt them depending on the work I'm scanning. Really pleased with my new set up, and the fact I dont need to pay someone else or buy a top of the range camera, though it was a learning curve.
