The av 700multi media player is a good solid and well made product it gives you access to transfer files from other players or direct recordings from digi set boxes DVD players sky boxes all in a good quality the player I purchased was a bargain at the price I paid I like the way it is able to link up a separate amplifier thus giving you good audio on playback of mp3 files and to amplify video/audio signal when watching video files because the archos uses mpeg 4 system for viideo amongst other file types it keeps the the amount of hard drive space used to a minimum which enables you to store more films /files or mpeg and mp3 titles once connected to your tv press the tv switch and playback your archos on tv the reason I decided to buy this product is I already own two other models and I like the way they work in the sense that they are very reliable and software update are free from archos on the Internet so all in all I would recommend the av 700 to anyone wishing to purchase a good reliable easy to use media player .Read full review

This product was purchased as a replacement for the original one I purchased in 2005. It was ahead of its time then, still a fab gadget 6 years later. This has the added bonus of having a 100 GB hard-drive. My original only had a 40 GB. Although Archos discontinued this player several years ago, some of the newer models have not "stood the test of time", and are definitely not as robust. All in all an excellent media player for transporting your photos, videos and music. But I must add it was far easier to transfer files over this time, as I transferred all files directly from the old player to the new one.
Excellent condition and thanks

This is my second (for business use) unit and enables me to record "medical procedures" direct from the monitor. If you plan to do the same make sure you have enough disk space hence it worth paying a little extra for the 100GB unit. I have also downloaded several DVD and TV programs which enabled me to use the device for personal "catch-up" viewing (when I'm not working). Initially, to get the units recorded files "to play" on other devices (laptops & PC) you may need to transpose to another format or upload the appropriate video codes.
