this is a lot of lens for the money. however the image quality is a little soft, so i would not recommend this for pro's, who would probably go for the Canon L series anyway. The huge range though makes it ideal "walkabout" or travel lens (quite hefty though!) I have a canon 18-55 and 75-300 both IS, but i find i just keep this one on for every day use. The surprise is the excellent Optical Stabilization - quieter than my Canon, and always on (not just when shutter half pressed.) My 75-300 beats in sharpness at 250 zoom, but unless you're publishing, enlarging of cropping, its not really an issue.
So glad to have purchased this lens, it's really worth every shots. I have bought this for my husband and by using the lens, he was able to take pictures with better quality, particularly for taking pictures from a distance. Pictures come so clear and crisp. It is a lot cheaper than the branded ones. Great deal, too. Overall, this is one of the best!!!

Perfect general lens. Exactly what i wanted and brilliant for the money. 18mm is good for wide angle shots whilst 200mm is better for closer images. Its good to have a wide angle/telephoto lens in one! If you're looking for your first lens, this is a good one to start off with.
