Good for those thicker stems, which might give you trouble when using ordinary (non-ratchet) secateurs. Easy to use. I always have a pair of these. They don't last forever - I've gone through several pairs in 20 years - but the price is right, even if you have to replace them every 2-3 years. They do get a lot of use!

Light in weight from clever design use of plastics. Quite comfortable in the hand in use. Sharp blade. Ratchet action adds to the effectiveness. Safety catch located between the handles; for one-handed use; small change of hand hold position to release it, or to set it. A bit 'awkward' to get used to at first, but 'ok' with practice/use. For a 'budget' tool it does well. **Two cautions: *Don't risk-it on dry dead wood; doing that overstrains all living-wood secateurs, even the all metal ones. *If you have very small hands you may find the span of the handles a little too wide.

These are so very comfortable in the hand; easy to grip and operate. Unlike spring operated secateurs, these are ratchet with no resistance, except for the stem being cut, and therefore less strain when using. Lightweight with a throw over loop to hold the blades together.

Don't expect these to last forever as the rivet tends to fail after a couple of years usage. However at the price they they can be replaced with a sharp new pair. Ratchet system works well so good for me with arthritic hands.

Was rather doubtful about ordering this product as it seemed a small price to pay compared with so many others, but they are so easy to use, and make pruning like cutting through butter. Makes the job so much easier. Would certainly recommend for anyone with difficulties pruning.
