I bought this record player as a Christmas gift for my wife as she likes to play vinyl from time to time. She has been really happy with it so far. I had read a number of reviews on this before I bought it so wasn't sure what to expect. The build of the wood is pretty good and solid but not too heavy, and what I really like best is the finish. The 2 speakers at the front are small and give you stereo but are not too great when you want to up the volume, but on the lower volume settings it performs effectively enough. They are only 2 watt speakers so nothing serious is going to happen with them. There is a subwoofer line-out so if it is more of an oomph that you want then you will probably want to make use of that facility. If you would like to see my video review you can view it on Youtube. Look for PRODUCT WORLD on Youtube and you will find it on my channel. Here you will be able to get a better idea of how it looks and more importantly how it sounds. Please feel free to view it. The title of the video is - Steepletone Retro Style Record Player - USB Norwich - so you could copy and paste that in the Youtube search bar. There is 3 knobs on the front, one for the On and Volume, one to tune the MW & FM radio and one to select the Output. You can select USB/SD card, record player and MW or FM radio with the output selector. One thing I would say about the output selector switch is that it could be of better quality as it is difficult to determine at what position it is in as you cannot hear it click into place. There is slots on the right side for USB & SD Card and controls for track selection. The controls allow you to pause and skip tracks etc but you can't view what track you're on and also, each time you put the USB in it will always go back to the first track. You can also plug in your mobile device to the line-in and play all your music straight through the record player and you get the benefit of using and viewing your app which maks it great for choosing tracks and artists. You have to be careful when putting long-play records on as you need to make sure the back end of the record goes under the carry bracket that holds the stylus arm up. This is due to the amount of room the big records take up. The long-play records stick out the back when they are on. You can play 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM records. On the deck itself you can only put on one record at a time. The stylus arm needs to be moved outwards to start the turntable and after the record has finished you need to lift the stylus arm and move it to the centre to turn it off and then you manually put it back in its cradle and clip. For me the stylus arm is a bit light and fragile. I have given this a 4 star rating but on my video review I have given it a more realistic 3.5 stars. The build quality of the wood makes it look good but it does lack that quality of sound that we have all been spoilt with in more recent years. At lower volumes it does do the job so it is no ghetto blaster. I don't really think record players in the 60's were that good anyway.Read full review
