I was not expecting very much when I purchased my first camera, but it performed pretty good. The picture quality gets very pixelated when the film is rerun on a big screen but it has taken some good movies mounted on the handlebars of my motorcycle, if you don't zoom into much. It is easy to use and battery life is not to bad. If it's in the waterproof case you need to remove it to recharge but if it's mounted in its open case it can be charged as you go through it supplied USB lead. I said at the start of my review "the first", that's because I have now had five of them to give away as gifts and two more for myself, one for the car as a dashcam and one for the wife's motorcycle. All are working well. For the amount I paid for it it is fantastic value and a fraction of the price of a gocam.Read full review

From the advert seemed to good to be true for the price ! From receiving and using, it was too good to be true! Seller was quick with delivery and all came as advertised, with all the fittings and basic instructions. After playing around with it at home, got the hang of it pretty easy and attached it to a cycle for a test ride. On return attached to PC to watch video and was very disappointed indeed with the video image. No way its HD 1080 quality or any way near 720, more like 240 quality. Could hardly make out anything that right wasnt beside the camera. Overall disappointed, but for the cost I should have realised !

I have bought six cheap and not so cheap cameras of this type and, quite honestly there seems to be no difference between the cheapest at £12 and the dearest I bought at £50. In fact the cheapest ones seem to handle the 1080p highest resolution better than one of the dearer ones. One I do use as an action cam for shooting. One I bought for one of my grandsons (he loves it) and the other four are setup as car dashcams. As cheap dashcams they are probably better than most purpose built dashcams on the market. After all, who the heck is going to use a genuine Go Pro as a dashcam to be left in the car!!! They serve the dashcam mode admirably with auto on/off 1, 3, 5 and 10 minute loop recording and, if needed, a movement sensor. OK the lenses are plastic not glass but the images are superb and I would prefer to lose one of these than a GoPro. At £12 who the heck cares if you have to buy a new one after a year or so. I have been using three of them continuously for over a year and not had a scrap of bother. GO Pro, eat your heart out at this money,.Read full review

Full HD 720P SJ4000 Waterproof Sports Camera DV Action Video DVR Helmet Black A fantastic camera based on the GoPro series. This is a great camera, powerful zoom and comes with an attachment for almost any eventuality. In my opinion its best feature is the underwater filming. In clear water it can still zoom and the picture is pin sharp. The video feature is very good let down only by the fact that the supplied battery doesn't last much more than 15 minutes but if you keep stopping and starting again it uses power quicker. For the price I have no complaints. It's sturdy and durable. good for a holiday but charge it as often as you can. You never know when that shot will just materialise in front of you. .

I've given this camera an okay review and the camera would be state of the art if this was 1999! I bought it with my eyes open and with the question of just how bad can a clone of a clone be? The actual answer is shockingly poor! Okay so you pay £14 for a clone of a clone, this is definitely not an SJ 4000. The housing and all the bits and pieces this camera comes with look impressive and the camera itself looks the part but that's where the honeymoon ends. If you read the specification carefully it states 0.3MP and that's exactly what you're getting, its a 640 x 480 VGA camera with some clever dicky jiggery pokery to interpolate the image up to 1080p. The best resolution you get out of the camera in still mode at 12Mp is really 2Mp and even that is pretty poor quality. If you want something robust for the kids to play with ( the waterproof housing really looks the part though I've yet to test it ) or want that 1990's retro look to your movie making then this camera is for you! If you want to make real videos and can't afford the Go Pro and want a real SJ 4000 then there are a few sites out there that tell you how to spot the fakes. Buyer bewareRead full review
