I does just as I expected the only slight drawback is when in use twigs are able to lift the pull cord out of the pully and drop down the side causing a jam to the unit. You need to use one hand to close the cutter slightly and whilst doing this a flat screwdriver to push the cord free and back onto it's pully. Other than that it would be full marks

Not a bad piece of kit. Bought it to replace an old Darlac pruner head (the old design). This one is much stronger, gets through thicker branches. It is heavier than the old one, and the cord does tend to slip off the pulley wheels and get jammed at the side, which takes some wiggling to free it, quite annoying.

the pruner lasts about 3 years, then you have to replace the pulley system, the spring eventually snaps, but cuts well up to near inch an half, this is my 3rd pruner head over last 15yr.add to 15ft tele pole an you can do high cutting as the pull cord is long, suprised how much cord you get.could do with a rachet gear for some circumstances overall does the jobs you need doing.

This did not survive contact with the real world (about 3 cuts), one branch snapped during the cut and the plastic Swop Top fitting snapped and the metal body plate bent dramatically. I have used the more basic Darlac cutter for years and this has not happened in all that time. Oh and the cutting line jamned in the pulleys.

This product plus the pole you fasten it allowed me on my own to cut tree branches at the full 5 metres height. I was very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who need to cut high branches.
