The selling point of this pump is for pool cover water removal. However, I bought it to drain my patio slab that floods whenever it rains due to tree roots in the drainage pipe. This kicked on when it reached about 2” in depth and drained it very quickly and shut off automatically. I also placed it into each 5 gallon bucket I set out to collect rainwater. With the long garden hose I could water the yard without hauling full buckets of water!

Returning this Ocean Blue 350 GPH Pool Cover Pum
This pump is a lightweight glorified aquarium pump. It is hard to keep it upright as it is top heavy, and it turns off unless it is sitting upright. So a slight twist in the garden drain hose is enough to turn it over and it quits! I have fiddled with this Ocean Blue Pool Cover Pump, for two days, and will return this unit. Additionally, it pumped 3 gallons per minute with a water rise of less than one foot, which means it will not pump water up hill. It may pump 350 gph if the outlet is well below pump level and it has the siphon effect working with it. The box directions say "do not let it freeze", so what good is it in the winter when you need a pool cover? I have used hundreds of pumps over my 6 decades, and this one is a loser. Cheers David

Cover pump
It works well so far, I only have a week of use on it. The problem that I found with it is that the "little" filter on the bottom gets blocked with debris very quickly. My solution was to put a paint strainer bag over the assembly to allow for more filtering surface area.
