the thatching feature works well, but I had to use it at the highest level to avoid tearing up the grass. The Aeorator feature seemed to do a more aggressive thatching process than creating the "holes" expected. Also had to use the highest level to avoid undu tearing up of the grass. I may not be using it correctly yet, but plan to use it n the future and perhaps will get max benefit when more familiar.

Bought this hoping to use it for aerating a lawn. The machine barely scratches the surface. The dethatching attachment is the only useful part but it also doesn't get any noticable depth. If the ground isn't close to perfectly flat neither attachment will reach the surface.

Have just it once on a small area of my yard since receipt about 30 days ago. I was impressed with the power and it certainly removed the dead grass quickly. In fact you need to keep the unit moving or it will remove to much. The grass catcher bag as others have noted fills quickly, but is handy for picking up to dump. The unit was easy to put together and seems to be of good quality. I plan to use it much more later this fall to remove dead grass and thatch.

It was lightweight and essentially self-propelled, because the blade pulls it along. It is easy to use and very effective. The basket is too small so what I did was open the flapper door and tied it open so that it would throw the batch out the back instead of clumping up. I tied the door partially open so that it wouldn't throw the thatch grass onto my feet. Then I picked up the thatch with my self-propelled lawn mower. That work really well. Then I switched to the aerator. To do that is easy. You use the Allen wrench and open the bearing on the left side. Then you insert the aerator wheel. It only takes 2 minutes to switch. The arestor throws up a lot of dirt like it should. What I'm going to try is spreading my grass seed and then using the Dereator. That way the seed will be mixed in with the dirt and I think I will get a better germination. This is a great tool for a hundred bucks. You have to fool with the electric cord to keep it out of the way, but to me, that's a lot better than dealing with a gas-powered tool that you only use once a year or maybe twice a year. I'm sorry I cannot add photos as I'm traveling today. But it threw up the thatch up on top of the grass and it was easy to pick up what the lawn mower. I used the setting number 3 and I feel like that was the best setting for my grass. Also, I mowed my lawn close before I started so that I wouldn't have so much grass to deal with.Read full review

Pros: - easy to assemble - light in weight and easy to control - powerful as a dethatcher and doesn’t consume too much electricity - its motor is hard worker Cons: - its size is too small and its small bag fulls very quickly so it consumes too much time - you have to watch the cord with every step - aerator is so weak, it just scratches the ground
