Always loved the series on the tv - excellent item, now able to watch when I like - planning to buy the whole series :-)
I bought the boxset because i have been a fan of the show since i was little, i am still only in my teens now, and being able to own a show i love is always convienient. The boxset which i bought was for region 2 (Europe) so it has a different lay out on the menu pages to other boxsets. I own seasons 3 and 4 on region 0 (any region) and the region 2 is definately a better layout. However the set itself is rather chunky,as the discs are 2 to a normal sized DVD case, making it a little difficult tostore, but keeps the discs well protected. I bought this set off Ebay because looking around in shops and other places online i found it to be the cheapest overall. Do not let buying this boxset off Ebay put you off, it was still in its cellophane when it arrived and works perfectly. The episodes are about 45 minutes long by my calculations and are set individually on the menu, but you can also just use play all, a very handy option. The episodes themselves are split into four so youcan leave it and come back easily. The only thing i missed from the boxset is any extras, i do not know if there is a boxset that has extras on it, but i think it would benfit from it. Overall a very good product.Read full review
The perfect "feel good" series - the "good guy" almost always wins - combining the surreal with comedy and action. The hero is handsome, his boss - Canadian Police Inspector Margaret Thatcher - is always called "sir"; and his wolf, Diefenbaker, is deaf but lips reads English and Inuit.
A truely excellent series, never missed an episode when it was televised, had them all on video and now intend to collect them all on dvd, they deserve a place in anyones collection. A whiter then white, too good to be true hero, there's not enough of those in fiction. The penultimate episode of series one is one of my all time favourite pieces of television.
