I bought this 1st generation iPad knowing that it would have some limitations compared with the latest offerings. However it is ideal for storing my complete photo album and i can also store quite a large number of albums. It has wi-fi and bluetooth and given that I only paid £89 I'm very pleased indeed.

I bought this iPad for a friend who is working in Tanzania unfortunately it will not work as it is locked. I rang Magpie who informed me they cannot guarantee their iPads will work abroad as maybe locked for security reasons. They told me I should of asked before I bought it. As my personal iPad is mobile and works all over the world I didn’t realise this was a question I needed to ask. So my gift has been of no use and I have wasted my money and have a very disappointed friend . So if you want to buy an iPad to use abroad you need to check before you buy as this has been a costly purchase for me.

Had a tablet a cheap look a like and boy oh boy you get what you pay for, always scoffed and scowled at the yuppie types with their I Pads wondering why they would pay that much money. I got this I Pad 1 after talking to some friends and I am glad I did, it is fast, reliable very easy to use, I also got a Acoustics Research docking station for it, I can now listen to all my Black Sabbath albums in stunning surround sound, and I can take them all with me. I also use this for doing my Audits, it's easier to organise than having scraps of paper all over the place, and the office compatible programme I have got is superb, I am finding the desk top and the laptop is now surplus to requirements. I am afraid I am becoming an I Pad snob, this is the industry standard, if you are looking for a tablet do not hesitate getting one, the series 1 I have got does what it says on the tin and you can pick a really good one up for fairly little money.Read full review
Love speed of startup. Touch screen. Size weight. Battery life Hate lack of instruction. Obsession with iTunes base. Lack of easy " back " or lack of assistance if its me who just can't find it (again lack of instructions ) I still can't print ( I must be thick ) It is difficult for me to think of how life was like the generation before mine. Your designers and programmers should not design in systems that assume everyone is computer literate and having a 20 something outlook!,,
This is the third iPad I have bought - not because of failures, crashes, etc, but because my son and wife were so impressed with mine, that I had to buy them one each as well! The 64gb 3G Wi-Fi is superb, with excellent connectivity. I have BT Broadband (although there are other providers out there!) and with their BTFON system it allows you to connect to the internet virtually anywhere in the UK. Reading ebooks is a joy (sorry Kindle) with the backlit screen not requiring a clip-on lamp to illuminate the text. To extend the battery life, I have found that the old advice still stands - run the battery right down to almost zero on regular occasions and the re-charge. It does not allow the battery to create a 'memory' of battery usage that can occur if you re-charge your iPad on a regular basis without running the battery down. The Apps are ideal for a myriad of tasks. There is almost an App for even conceivable task that you would need to do 'on the move' Sure, it does have some limitations when editing files (particularly spreadsheets) but stick with it and you will find the way to do it. I did!Read full review
