I tried the original Mer (in the light blue bottle /silver cap) years ago ...I had a sports car at the time and I found this cream polish very good I used to put it on the side windows as well as the paint work.......I found it very easy to use and was impressed with the results!!The down side was trying to get hold of it from a supplier that didn't want a weeks wage for 500ml!!!!! So I have trued quite a few other brands......Now I when I saw this 'NEW' Mer I was tempted especially for 1 litre at the price I paid....I thought I would try it.! The new (black bottle new formulae product ) ....I found all the same positives easy... to apply.....easy to buff (DONT LET IT DRY FOR LONG BEFORE BUFFING!!).....even if the car is slightly wet in places just apply and wait for it to haze!! and buff brilliant. I have polished the car three times (as it says the more you polish the better the result!) and it has been through 4 or rain stores over the last week and it looks really good STILL....beading still apparent........A bit of a mare if you get on black rubber or black plastic???? But it does warn you!! it takes a lot of buffing to remove. All in all a good product easy to apply and buff up.......as long as the price remains sensible I will remain with this as I did with the original product, as it seems to have all the same advantages!!!! It is defiantly up there with my favourite 3 polishes.............and it isn't the most expensive at present!!!! Its a thumbs up from me!!!! CWRead full review

As a chauffeur for more than 30 years, I have used Mer on a number of occasions and found it brilliant. I bought this on previous experience but found it utter crap! I ended up having to use Tcut to clean the panels but it still left streaks so I binned this product and used another. What they have done to this polish I don't know but the original was so easy to use I do not understand why they have changed it. Do yourself a favour and buy an alternative product.

The polish gives a good shine and is easy to apply. However avoid applying it too liberally as otherwise it needs more effort to polished off any thicker streaks of MER. My old bottle of MER did say to apply with a slightly damp cloth, which may help to spread the polish more thinly, I will try doing this in future. My old bottle also said to add a couple of caps full to plain water when washing the car to help maintain the shine, however I avoid getting it on the plastic trim and glass, I also rinse the car afterwards. I have always found this to be effective, but if you follow this suggestion it is at your own risk as the new bottle does not give this advice.

Used it for years. Two capfuls in a bucket of water to wash over after you have got the dirt off. Leather off for a great finish. You can use it as polish as well. Handed a company car back after five years and the transport manager was amazed at the finish, especially after I said i had never polished it, only ever washed it with a cap full of Mer in the water.
