I have had mine now for a good 7 months. I made the purchase because I did not want the starlings to scavange every bit of food before the smaller birds had a chance. My first adjust ment was too big. Everything was able to get at it. Next adjustment, the Starlings still managed to devour all the food inside. Third adjustment. No Starlings, but then again no other birds. So if you want to feed the Starlings, there are other much cheaper alternatives that this product. Smaller birds like Sparrows, Tits and Robins as shown in the picture tend to shy away from the narrower opening. Looks good and it does adjust but telling the right species of birds that they can dine in a restaurant made for them is something else.

I bought this to feed mealworms to a pair of nesting robins and it was ideal, eventually it got spooted by some sparrows, (which are ok) but by then the robins had hatched so all well and good.

Great bird feeder at good price. Birds love it, dry food and bigger birds can't get at it if height adjusted properly..
