I would suggest throwing away the instruction book and look on you tube on how to operate, enter repeaters and frequencies etc. I purschased a different antenna for it and it improved my signal vastley. A great bit of kit for the price . Im looking to get another Baoefung in the new year. If your on a budget this could be the radio to get you started in ham radio.
