Easy operation once installed. Program times and clock setup no bother. Switches lights on/off perfectly, consistently. I use 40watt incandescent bulb....problems seem to creep in with fancy bulbs. Initial wiring is CRITICAL. One way switch easy....but TWO WAY needs care. Don't wire it up wrong or your headaches begin. Also...it seems "British" designed/made and instructions clear.

The timer can be daunting when you first look at all the features it holds behind the chic soft push touch pull down front. However if you persevere and follow the written words in the instruction guide it will operate as per specification As it states you 'will' have to charge up internal cell before it operates correctly so this can be annoying as a contractor time is money if you have to return and set up once charged My only observations are... * markings are not clear on rear of switch * brass connection screws can easily fall through void on back if you're not careful when fitting wires into retainers * photographic wiring picture is not intuitive and non electrically qualified installers will struggle to follow the connectivity * this is an electronic timer to be connected series in-line to the load so therefore requires no direct neutral to the switch.Read full review

This switch was bought to replace a similar product called a 'Superswitch' which failed after thirty years good service. The Greenbrook switch is virtually identical in its design and operation. However, the major difference is the way the small red neon light works. On my original switch the neon light only showed when the switch was in 'Auto' mode to show that the programs for operating automatically were active, which was fine. The only other time the red light came on was after a power cut, to indicate that te switch required re-programming. The new Greenbrook version has a different and illogical use for the red light ; i.e it stays on , flashing all the time , day and night when the switch is in normal (manual) mode , which is annoying if it is located in a bedroom.. Bizarrely, the light only goes out when in programmed 'Auto' mode. The light should only be necessary to reassure the user that the light is set to come on when the house is left empty. I contacted Greenbrook but they could not agree with me that the red light's function is totally illogical. Nevertheless, I use the new switch and it works fine but I have solved the issue by putting a small piece of black PVC tape over the offending red light which is 'designed ' to be on 24/7.Read full review

Product works well enough and exactly as the one it replaced which was over 25 years old. The cover, however, which also acts as an over-ride switch, appears thinner and less robust than the old one, which hints at a cost-saving exercise which may affect it's useful life. Had it retained the same thickness and strength as the old one I would have rated it as 5 stars.
