This is one of Panasonic's top of the range Leica branded lenses. For a micro four thirds lens it is big and quite heavy but that's because of the excellent glass that's inside, and of course the fact that it is f1.4, ie a 'fast' lens. But this is not a cheap lens and unless you really need the f1.4 it might be better to look at Panasonic's (also Leica branded) 15mm lens which whilst it is a bit less wide, and a bit 'slower' a f1.7, is considerably cheaper, smaller and lighter, but still very good quality.

A big lens. It would be big on 35mm, but on MFT it is simply huge. Well built, but virtually unusable in bright conditions. Unless the light source is directly behind you, ANY tiny hint of bright light results in horrendous, image destroying lens flare. For the money, awful. My 12-35mm 2.8 II knocks spots off it at 12mm. An expensive waste of money.

Combination of wide angle, sharpness and wide aperture is just amazing. It of course costs heavy weight. I have dropped this lens several times and it still work well. No issues with dust or rain.
