Being an avid cook, I cook almost every meal I eat. I have 4 bamboo wood cutting boards which I use all the time. I usually wet sand and re-oil them somewhere about every two months. I have been using Howard's oil for a while now. I like how light and clean it feels and looks. It doesn't seem like you're using industrial type oil, like some other brands do. What I usually do is first wet sand the boards completely smooth, especially removing all the knife marks. I let them dry in the dish rack for a few hours. I then apply the oil generously with a soft cloth, then let them sit in a dish rack overnight to dry. I wash the boards off with dish soap, let them dry again, then they're ready to use. There is no after taste on the food at all. My boards are in great shape, especially the board I use for cooked meats, which has a nice patina. I would highly recommend Howard mineral oil for cutting boards and other related uses!Read full review

After purchasing the product, I applied two coats to three cutting board that were un-oiled previously. The oil penetrated well, and seems to add protection. However it also washes off quite easily and then leaves a white film which will go away with the application of another coat of oil. I think the bees wax additive might be better and protect against this happening.

This oil did a great job restoring my butcher block countertops to a "like new" finish. I was thinking about replacing the countertops in my kitchen, but decided to try this first. Followed the instructions and WOW, my kitchen is saved. Great Product!! Great Value!!

I use this on my cutting board in my kitchen. It goes on easy, give it 20 minutes to be absorbed and then wipe off any excess. I do it about every three months. Stuff works.
