Although a medically retired senior controls engineer, I am not gadget mad but had reached a time when I needed a smartphone for a specific project. If you're a serious gamer this phone is not for you! However, don't be put off by the sniffy critics. The phone does offer fantastic value for money. The Windows system is sleek and, although the start up is a little slow, once in use the switch between programs and loading is fast and easy to follow after a while. I'm using with Teamviewer to control other laptops and PC's for a hospital radio station with absolutely no delay or problems. The Lumia 650 is a very neat, slimline smartphone. The rear feels nice but a little flimsy and I would recommend a hard cover if, like me, your using outdoors. The OLED display is clean and easy to read. The 8MP camera takes nice photographs, perhaps a little pixellated when blown up large but good enough for the average user. The battery life is a weak point but as long as you know it's limitations and have plans for recharging, not a massive problem for me. If the short battery life does prove problematic, I'll purchase a spare. I suffer from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which has spread to my hands and my main concern was using a smartphone touch screen keypad. I need not have worried as even my shaky hands can work these much easier than my old Nokia 113. Another bonus for myself and others with dexterity problems, is the weight, or rather lack of. The set up for email, internet, texting & phone numbers took just a few minutes. The app store is limited when compared to the Android or Apple stores, but there are sufficient apps for my needs, with more out there if you look hard enough, many of them free of charge. In short, a lovely phone for the price. I needed a smartphone for a specific task only and was not prepared to pay a fortune as I rarely use a mobile phone. I'm so glad that I ignored those pontificating reviews on youtube and in online magazines, as I have my first smartphone and without breaking the bank!Read full review

I loved Windows phones and it's very sad that they are discontinued. This is a lovely looking phone in white, however it's such a shame it no longer supports many apps and you can't download What's App, You Tube, Pinterest, Instagram and many others. There are very few apps you can get now as many have been discontinued on Windows phones. If Windows had kept going this would not have been a problem, but the operating system is so old now, and the system runs slow. Its a shame Windows phones finished, they have not had a chance to evolve like Android handsets. They were awesome back in the day.

Firstly, update everything. When you've done that, this becomes a good phone, especially for the price. Maybe i'm old school, I send texts, call people on my phone, surf the net at lunchtime and send emails. This it does with no fuss at all. If you have a Microsoft account then you can link it to the phone and share contacts, emails, calendar information with ease. Edge is ok as a browser and with 4G, I don't see a lot of difference between more expensive phones accessing the net. If you want the latest apps and games, well i'm the wrong person to ask, because I don't play games on my phone. Yes the choice of apps is small compared to Android and Apple, but then I don't charge the phone every day either. Every third day it gets charged so I'm very happy with that. Camera is average for an 8mp camera, in low light it suffers but otherwise perfectly adequate. I've given the review a 4 star rating simply because of a lack of apps, but otherwise it's a fine phone that will serve you well.Read full review

As a multi-plattform user, this phone has been a very pleasant surprise. Build quality on level with the best ones, really well designed and agile OS, it doesn't look like a phone of its price range but a much superior one. We can't deny the hands of Nokia still around... Only Flaws? Missing my pokemon go and a better Facebook app but this is not related to the phone itself though... Anyway, so very happy to recommend this phone

Absolutely fantastic device, easy to set up and use. Only let down is a smaller app selection than android and iPhone. The build quality is 2nd to none the amoled screen is amazing quality and easily usable in direct sunlight unlike a lot of phones. I recently sold my lumia 640 and picked up an iPhone but found the OS just wasn't as smooth and customisable as windows 10. So I ordered this 650 have my son my iPhone 6s and have never looked back. If you can live without snap chat then I highly recommend the lumia 650
