The SX is one of the best reels on the market. Hands down easy to cast. Take a minute and adjust the controls for the weight you are casting. Hold your rod with bait about 1-2 feet off ground. Release thumb bar. Do not thumb when bait hits ground if reel spins and back lash adjust control a little tighter. Do again. Do it til when bait hits ground you get no or very little overrun. Now go fishing.
