Unless you are carrying a bike lock weighing more than most enthusiast's bikes you are not going to stop a determined and well-equipped thief. However, for a relatively lightweight solution to deter a pick-up and go opportunistic theft, during the cafe stop for example, this lock is as good as any.

It's OK but I wouldn't rate it highly for security. Very much a lock to deter the opportunist thief outside the shops. I think you could cut the cable with cable snippers. The lock mechanism is fine, the reset is a bit fiddly but you only need to do that once. For the price, not really worth it. The build quality seems poor as well, feels like a cheap copy of a real Kryptonite lock.

I purchased this cable lock so that I could secure my motorcycle helmet to my bike when out & about. It worked fine until the recent hot weather melted the release button in under 30 minutes, whilst parked up outside Asda. When I tried to press the release button, it was jammed solid & I could clearly see how the cheap plastic used in it's construction had distorted in the heat of the day?? I was lucky to be parked outside of Asda's at the time or I might not have been able to remove it...had I been parked up in the countryside for instance!! With nowhere to buy a pair of pliers! Having no other choice than to cut it free, I went back into Asda's & purchased(£4) a pair of pliers to cut the skinny cable...I was dismayed how quickly it cut through the cable(like it was made from paper) A scissors would have done it! Also, the size of the main body of the lock is extremely large & bulky & from the moment I opened the packaging I could tell that this was made from cheap parts - it is a gimmick riding on the once good name of Kryptonite :( You'd be better off buying a similar cable lock from the Range for £2.99 - like I did to replace this(their cable is 6mm thick compared to the 1.2mm Kryptonite) (DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR & STAY WELL CLEAR)Read full review

This combo lock is easy to set up and quick to use when I take my cafe break on a cycle ride. The wire is long enough to wrap round, and lock two bikes, quite easily. A good sized lock which I recommend.

Appears very flimsy, plastic case easy to break, locking cable keeps jamming in the lock and will sometimes not unlock with the correct combination. Good point is that it easy to store in handlebar bag or back pocket.
