If you are looking for a very reasonably priced fountain pen to try out then this Jinhao 675 should be considered. It comes with a converter, so you can try out different coloured inks, and if you damage it or decide you don't like using it then it wont have broken your budget due to the reasonably low price. The steel nib works but remember that Chinese nib sizes are smaller than Western sizes. So a Chinese fine nib will be like a Western extra-fine nib. My experience has been good but sometimes Chinese quality control can vary.

the pen is a bit on the dry side, but the nature of these pens means they can be variable. At this price you can take a chance.
