I've used this Manuka honey 'ointment' to heal all sorts of doggy ailments in recent years and it is magical stuff. When my old dog had cuts on the tips of his ears (that failed to respond to vet treatment) I was prescribed this very product by my vet. It's quite sticky bit pleasant to use and it's tackiness helps it stay on wounds or sore patches more easily. Archie's ears healed in days (after months of unsuccessful medication did no good) The ointment forms a natural barrier and the Manuka heals even the most open & sore wounds. My welsh terrier had chewed a bald red patch recently.. I put a tiny layer over the spot & it was healed in 2 days. A lampshade collar stopped Percy licking the Manuka off but otherwise it's a cheap natural & very effective problem solver. I'd recommend everyone has it in their first-aid kit. Wonderful stuff!Read full review

my daughter in law came out in a dreadful rash all over her face ,the g p prescribed her some cream which she was allergic to and her face came up in all puss lesions and was dreadful , I suggested she tried a small patch of this on her face and she took the tube to her gp and asked if he would prescribe it . he point blank said 'NO'' she used it anyway and within a week her face had completely cleared . the first day all the puss sloughed off her face and the redness subsided ,it is a miracle treatment

I bought medical grade manuka honey about 8 years ago when my dad was suffering with ulcers on his leg. A community nurse was visiting every other day for a couple of months, applied medication and changed dressings but it was getting so much worse, and it smelled awful. I researched and found the honey, it was delivered a couple of days later and within a week his leg was healing. We used the rest of the tube the following year when my mum had a bad accident and her wounds were showing no improvement. Again the honey worked miracles. I bought this tube for the first aid kit and at a quarter of the price I paid years ago I think everyone should have it to hand.

Honey dressing is recognised by the NHS as being good for slower healing wounds. I used it on the final healing stages of the site of a drain tube which seemed to be making slow progress to heal. People have commented on the graininess of the contents of the tubes they had received. My tube was fine. I suspect that warming the tube in hot water would dissolve the sugary granules. The tube IS resealable contrary to some comments. The snap off lid simply reverses and has a peg which is designed to plug the end of the nozzle.
