I am not a mechanic or good with cars, but our ford lock broke and after hearing they wanted to charge me £200 to replace it I looked at you-tube video's and bought this part. it was really easy to build and fit the part. Easiest £180 I have ever saved. (there is videos on you-tube showing you how to build the lock, open the bonnet without key or breaking anything and how to fit it all)

The product is good but it’s a disgrace that it doesn’t come with instructions!!! Anyone attempting to assemble the lock would be completely lost if it were not for a good video being available online, 'Ford Bonnet Lock Barrel Cylinder Assembly and Bowden Cable'. It would be good if the buyer was made aware of this. Even so, the assemble is not easy, and the video contains an error in that it doesn't mention how the spring should be fitted - see the comments below the video for this.

Superb replacement to a stock part. Very simple to fit. Took around 5 minutes to change over and works great. You could take the pins out and use your exiting key barrel but the one fitted works fine. Comes with 2 keys so you get a spare aswell.

There are instructions on the web. A bit fiddly, but saves getting a new lock and key set. Build the lock and bingo, back to original. Good quality that matches OEM parts

Once you have the lock in place, fitting to the vehicle is straight forward. After fitting the functionality is back to original state. If in doubt spend time to watch Youtube videos to understand how.
