I bought this digital scanner primarily for 8mm cine film, appreciating that it would still be time consuming having to take an image of each frame. However, as the plastic film strip holder doesn't have any feature that locks the film in a set position for each frame, taking advantage of the perfs (perferations at the side of the strip) as one would expect, you have to hold the film in position as the image is recorded. Doing so without any shake/blur is near impossible and taking in mind the image on the tape is only 4.8mm x 3.5mm and the aperture on the plastic holder is very slightly smaller, framing the image in the exact same place each time is all the more impossible. Hence, my practice piece looks like the cine camera operator is taking the film while stood on a vibrating pad.

Good little unit that does better than I expected considering some of the reviews. Works well with normal 35mm paper slides but doesn't like the thicker plastic ones which seemed to be used during the late 70's - it still works but the fit is very tight!
