Well...this product is not "better than expected," it is just AS expected, but I wasn't given that option. Similarly, I have no idea how reliable it is- I've only had it for a few days. The image quality is variable and so from a 'professional' point of view not good...arguably. But that's what I like about instant photography, that's why I got this camera; for unpredictability, for instant surprises. That said, there is much more control available with this camera than there was with my long-gone Polaroid SX70. Kind of next generation. I like that, I've dropped one star for build quality. Not that the build quality is bad, but there are a few less-than-perfect things to bother OCD types like me: the cover on my flash attachment is very slightly loose, the film door and the mode ring likewise. Maybe the design could be better, too. In landscape mode you have to be careful not to put a hand in the way of the film as it ejects. But I've taught myself to hold the camera so that doesn't happen. And that's it for build and design disasters. Not so very bad at all. If you're looking for a camera that faithfully records what's in front of it, you'll most likely be happier with a DSLR - or your smartphone. But if a relationship with a machine with thoughts of its own excites you, get one of these.Read full review
