This is just what I was looking for. It has big sound coming from a small body. Plays well, the action is perfect. For the price, I haven't seen better.

I bought a used '99 Baby Taylor w/mahogany top in about 2001. I added side dots so I could see by the light of the campfire. Big improvement. The intonation frankly wasn't all that great until I switched from Martin Marquis lights (which are best on dreadnaughts) to the recommended Elixir strings. That raised the action a bit, so the truss rod got tweaked, and the intonation also got a lot better after those changes. For its size, this little guitar has surprisingly good tone, and is just about perfect for trail or couch or travel duties! And when capo'd up, it can approximate a ukulele sound to fill in the mix on multi-track recordings. More fun! I keep a thin pick handy, as this short scale guitar doesn't respond well to thrashing with a medium or heavy pick. I've come to love this little rig, and it's surprising how often I pick it up instead of a "battleship" in the next room...Read full review

I've been playing guitar for 20 years+, always sticking to Gibson semi-hollow bodies and custom acoustics (Lakewood). I have a friend who is a bit on the small side and who has been wanting to learn guitar. I tried quite a few short-scale guitars. The Baby Taylor is by far the best of the bunch. I highly recommend the Baby for youngsters, smaller adults or a great sounding travel guitar. Good quality and good sound. It won't disappoint.
This little guitar proves great things come in small packages. Sound is amazing and very professional . smooth feel. Amazing sound quality. Cute little thing that beats almost all of my friends bigger guitar sounds (Yamaha etc) this guitar is a must have for any guitar collector or lover. Definetly a great conversation starter. If I could I would give it 10 stars. Recommended!!!

I was pleasantly surprised how good the Baby Taylor sounds and feels. The fret spacing is close to a regular guitar and my fingers do not feel cramped. It's fun to play and if you are skilled you can make the Baby sing! Small, portable with a very good, padded gig bag. Excellent product!
