Essentially this has all the features of my previous shaver, the Braun 1715 FreeControl, but jazzed up a bit. There's just one cutter and foil in the shaving head, and a trimmer which is brought into action using a thumb slide on the back. A plastic guard protects the foil from damage when not in use and prevents accidental activation of the shaver by covering the On button. It's light and feels nicely balanced in the hand. One minor criticism: the coiled flex is apt to pull out the shaver connector if extended a little bit - which was a problem with the FreeControl - so it's a pity that wasn't addressed during the update. Overall, it's a good little mains-powered shaver which does the job.

Have had this model for quite a few years and have always found it to be a very good electric razor , however for some reason i am very disappointed with the latest one i have just purchased as it cuts just like an old worn out razor especially the trimmer not to pleased with whatever you have done to this latest purchase. Sorry for my latest poor assessment of your product but you did aske for my honest opinion.

1. Good for sensible, irritable skin and erratic hair. 2. Even it is a cheap product it is enough fast working. 3. Using a main connected power supply it is not life limited by a miserable accumulator impossible to change it. The problem is to always care not bending the cable and to check from time to time its connection to body of the shaver. 4. A little inconvenient is that leaves behind long hairs stuck to skin and you have to cut them with a classic razor. 5. The reliability is excellent : I use my actual set for 8 years and I changed foils and cutters every two years and it still works. I bought a new one only to be sure that I'll be able to use a same type for the future 10 years. Really my previous shaver was Braun Series 7000 that I was obliged to threw in the trash because I could not change the accumulator after 3 years and that is enough.Read full review
