This Loft Access Door is my second one, as the old one is getting ‘old’ as it’s used very regularly and has stood up to regular use. Should this Access door is used less frequently then it will last for a long time. I chose this type of door as it has a 3 point locking method, and the seals are excellent

Not as good quality as they used to be , locking devices cheap and don't align easily. It's only sent with locking key/head not on a pole and this key/head doesn't fit on previous or old poles.

100 times better than the new make, the twist lock is so easy to use. The new slide action to lock and unlock is so hard to use unless you can reach the ceiling with your hands!!!!!! Recommend this “old style” over the new type every time.

Used this to replace a 17 year old Manthorpe unit which had yellowed and was looking scruffy. It's a different design to the old one with different fixings but virtually the same size so was easy to fit into the existing hole. Looks great, nice bright white colour with with good draft seals on the frame and door.

This door is classed as the old style, but it is by far the better design when compared to the new style with the sliding cover. I like this door because it is simple to operate and comes complete with catch opening tool which can be operated from floor level. The door is lightweight so it is not too heavy for my daughter to operate. My criticism is that as other previous installers comments, the flange is flimsy, but once fixed to the ceiling it is functional. I thought the polystyrene insulation was susceptible to access damage so I covered mine with foil for added protection. Lastly if you open the door past 90° for removal be careful that the door is centralised within the frame before attempting to close the door as the rear flange on the door can become trapped in the frame flange and easily crack when closing. Full marks for the supplier who beat the estimated delivery date.Read full review
