For £12 this was a snap, and about what you'd expect, so this review is about build quality (rather than value for money). The camera works just fine but the lens positioning made it out of focus. It was clear from the front that the lens was not fully seated in the camera. As I bought it to take apart for research, a quick inspection on the front revealed the lens was loose. When looking inside it appeared the lens was not screwed into a holder as is normal for these type of action cameras, but it was sat mostly loose in the housing; this explains the out of focus issue. Maybe this was a rogue item in the production batch, but probably not surprising to have build quality issues at this price. The field of view (FOV) also seemed particularly narrow, and the battery cover also needed a bit more internal padding adding to hold the battery in place, otherwise power is lost. Otherwise brilliant.Read full review

Ok, so I decided to get this camera to take on holiday just to mess around with in the pool and down the beach etc so I thought all the previous reviews about using it for dashcam/helmet cam etc wouldn't really matter. Wrong. I thought about the battery dying so quickly must have been down to people not charging it correctly however I charged it fully and left it on record to see what I'd get, I managed 15 mins of recording, not ideal. The image quality is poor, unless you are outside in full sunlight then the images and videos appear dark. The videos do not record in .MOV as described but record in .AVI. the camera itself is very easy to use and super light, the case and accessories it comes with are ok also. I've seen replacement batteries listed with a docking station so you could potentially charge a few batteries and have them ready. I believe in you get what you pay for and although I just wanted this to mess around with I do wish I spent a bit more and looked into other options. Would I recommend this camera? No, not even if you wanted it just to mess around with. Updated, the camera will not even work when connected to a pc, it won't read what's on the camera and I have since done some research and it appears there are alot of fake cameras out there replicating the SJ4000. Avoid at all costs.Read full review

I bought this to try to mount onto my CBF600SA for a trip to the Lakes. No matter how I tried to mount it, it would not stay still. It came minus a mains adapter. It had a data cable so I was able to charge it, but I charged it for 36 hours on full, went to the Lake District last week, put it on as I was about to go down Kirkstone Pass and it died in under 5 minutes. Absolute rubbish. Avoid at all costs.

No instructions on use. I could not get it to record, it just comes up with setting menu. Mount broke when I put a cable tie round it. Battery went dead after one night, even though it was turned off!! It froze when I turned it on, I had to wait for the battery to die to turn it off. Do not buy!!!!!

This is not a genuine SJ4000 camera unfortunately. Works fine for still images or as a webcam if you’re not bothered about quality. Quality lower than mentioned for video, not 1080p or even 720p playback, mount doesn’t secure camera tight for chest mount and flaps around. Playback is more like 480. Device works but not to the quality expected as not a genuine SJ4000. Disappointed and shouldn’t be sold as an SJ4000
