I bought this as an upgrade on my previous three-tier monster of a cage. It's actually substantially larger, and with no fixed platforms offers plenty of room for customisation with corner shelves, rope bridges, and hammocks (made from old socks in my case.) All in, with all these additional features it probably costs about the same as my previous one but is better in all regards. More space, easier to clean, and much better openings to retrieve the critters. The build quality is also far superior, and it was a doddle to assemble. The only down-side for rats so far is the lack of horizontal bars, which makes it more difficult for them to climb. This is easily overcome by some strategically placed fleece matting cable-tied to the sides though, together with a few ramps. One note - For rats, make sure you place some cardboard or fleece on the bottom level, as they can develop a painful foot condition if walking on bare bars. I read somewhere someone saying that it's unsuitable for female rats as the bars are too widely spaced and they can escape. I have three girls, two of them only about 3 months old, and there's zero chance of them wriggling through those gaps. I can only recommend that the previous poster return their animals to the pet-shop, as they have clearly been sold Pygmy Jerboas by mistake.Read full review

The cage was as stated, but the stand didn’t the cage would not hold on the stand and on eBay they show to different stand which I didn’t notice, I got the one that didn’t go with it , and the other which is the right one there are swirls on the sides and it’s square so the cage fits so have a good look at the stands before you buy, not like I did

I bought this for my lodger so her two Cockatiels could have a much bigger cage , she was able to set it up on her own & said it was easy but there was three nuts missing for the screws & also one hole had not been drilled so the bottom wire rack does not sit flush , these are minor faults & I will probably find spare nuts somewhere - just not in my toolbox - typical ! Apart from that very pleased with cage & birds seem happy now they have got used to their new home - & the fact they are usually towering over us now !

Mt parrot is 27 years old and I was worried he would not like a new cage. He has been in his old one for at least 13 years. He took a few hours to get used to it, but loves it now. Delivered on time and easy to put together. Excellent price and quality.

Strong cage and suitable size although some improvements were needed. The feeding hatches were easy to open and we had to nip them with pliers to prevent escape. The cage doesn't attach to the stand which ment it needed cable tying to prevent it falling. The bottom removable plastic tray easily slid to far back and fell out back so we needed to improve. We have several other cages which did not have these issues and equally as reasonably priced.
