    Leaves you wanting more

    Captures the atmosphere of an intimate live venue. A little more variety of songs would have been nice as it is predominantly jazz/blues, but hey, it does what it says on the tin. More tracks would have prolonged the enjoyment

    Take Me To The River - I’ll go willingly.

    Recommended by a friend taking the FB 20 album challenge. A wonderful discovery for me, who had never heard of this Georgia songbird. Been played constantly on the car stereo since. My favourite track - Al Greene’s Take Me ToThe River. Has to be played at full volume like I was some teenager playing boom boom rap only this is pure raunchy rhythms and blues.

    Eva Lives

    Live Eva Cassidy - well apart from smatterings of applause this sounds like a studio album, the technique of Eva and her musicians and production is that good. The songs are a real mix and I have a feeling do not constitute the full set as I have since heard American Tune which would have been a standout inclusion. All songs sound new thanks to Eva's amazing creativity - but People Get Ready and the last track sung with vocals only are full of the true meaning of soul. Autumn Leaves and Tall Trees are lovely wistful tracks. This album is proof of Eva's amazing talent as a live singer and interpreter of song. With this she still lives. Terrific album.
