I have had this saw for a while now and used it frequently in my workshop. So far it has cut well.

having used a Japanese style backsaw previously that I bought from one of the cheaper supermarkets, at a little over £7.00. I was so delighted , I thought I would invest a little more and buy a similar item from this UK based company. Alas I hate to admit it, but this crosscut pull handsaw doesn't even begin to equal its cheaper rival. I pulled and tugged for a bit, but in the end I just had to revert back to my earlier purschase. Not only that, the cheaper one even came with a spare blade. So come on Silverline I know you can do better than this.

Brought this item to use as an alternative to a regular saw to cut basic pine however on my first use I found this saw to be useless for cutting wood and this was on one and a quarter inch treated pine the saw was disappointing to say the least tried three times to cut through this pine but found it completely useless so binned it and went back to using a regular saw

I was pleased to discover that the saw in question, in fact all 'silverline products' are covered by a lifetime guarantee. Whilst the saw in question is entirely servicable, it is not as sharp as I anticipated. Having sent an email to 'silverline' , they invited me to send the item to them to be quality checked. I, however, decided to cut my losses. I would expect, being the owner of other products by silverline, that this saw should maintain the high standards I have come to expect from the marque. Ray.
