While it is impossible to find replacement original handles for older acoustib Gibson cases (you know the i piece plastic tube type thing wrapped in leather/stitched) I used this handle and bought a couple of 1" brass D-rings at the Home Depot to get up and running....it works

RUN AWAY !!! Within a few months of light use the leather on the handle suddenly tore and gave way as I stepped off of an airplane, sending my 1926 Gibson L3 guitar slamming to the ground in its case, opening an 8" crack along the side of the instrument with the entire top popping lose... just as I was arriving for a festival appearance I had been flown in for, at the beginning of a tour I was depending on this instrument for. Luckily I found a fast luthier to patch the instrument together, but this was an outrageous failure of the this handle and there is NO EXCUSE the case loops that the handle attached to were smooth, there are no sharp edges anywhere. The manufacturer just uses the cheapest thinnest leather they can for the most critical part of the product. The guitar and its case together probably weigh 4Lbs , exceptionally light. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TERRIBLE PRODUCTRead full review

This is a good strap. It, however, is incomplete. If you put this strap on as is, it won't last very long. because you will have leather chaffing on metal; the leather will break. I made a couple of metal inserts that sit inside the loops and are glued in place with contact cement. Now all of the friction/chaffing on the handle is between two pieces of metal. It will last much, much longer.

I had a leather handle for my, now fifty years old, homemade electronics toolbox. It eventually dried out and broke. The box is quite heavy when full of my stuff so I like having a comfortable handle. This was perfect.

Used as a replacement handle on a Buffet double clarinet case for a teenage boy that swings it around. Hopeful that the leather will last but it was very easy to install and well constructed. The cost of the handle was OK but shipping brought it to AUD 60.
