Well this model rocks and so it should it's lego's flag ship edition for that year, This animal his big, huge in size its got 4 wheel drive and steer also its like a monster truck in miniature scale full shocked all round the front and rear drive units also pivot from the centre like the the all terrain vehicle do so that all 4 wheel can get grip and drive, ho did I forget to say it's motorized, that right kiddies it's got the function system built in to it making it remote controlled, this is one hell of a lego technic model, I love it and it looks like it's the base for the limited edition model of the same year the 41999, what else can I say this has attitude designed right into it, you have to have one of these in your collection if you collect technic without a doubt, and it's makes a great model to use to go onto build other big project if you have the time, patience and money of coarse. Mark out of 10 ( 9.5/10). And I've seen a you tube clip we're this model is climbing around rocks and concrete blocks house building blocks it looks amazing for a lego model to do that that's why I've given it a high mark. Bought this when it first came out, quite complicated and intricate to build, but builds into a nice heavy duty machine. I added the Lego LED lights set to it and they work well. On another review I noticed someone say "its too slow", it is if you have the drive cogs as on the instructions, but if you swap them over, it goes much faster. Not enamoured with body of it, it really needs a 'monster jam' style body. Looking to get another set to transform them into an 8x4x8 behemoth of an R/C truck. Overall a very nice set though.

A great LEGO build. Interesting and educational. The independent 4x4 drive and steering is brilliant. As with at least one other comment, the drive is quite slow (but it is called a crawler) - I took the advice and swapped the drive cogs which changes the gearing and increases the speed significantly. all in all, an enjoyable build
