Handles fold easily for compact storage. Although I have only used it once so far I have no complaints. Selecting one of the 5 blade height settings is quick and easy. It cut well enough though I only used it for a light trim just to get used to it. Trimming my lawn took about 30 minutes and I still had power left in the first battery so the second battery wasn't used though more power might have been used if I had set the blades lower. Time will tell, but if it carries on as it has started I will be happy enough.

The machine is well packaged and assembly is straightforward. Simple to fit the batteries ... which are easy to recharge. Two batteries should give over 1 hour of mowing. The mower is easy to push, self-propelling is not really missed but may be a factor if your grounds are steep. The lowest setting for cutting is 35mm, not low enough if you prefer a 'Bowling Green' finish but OK if you are happy with a more lush appearance. When grass growth is more rapid I look forward to testing the mulching option as the collected cut grass already seems quite fine. The indicator on the grass collection box works well and makes it obvious that it is time for emptying. This is a satisfactory purchase, much simpler for anyone to handle than a petrol mower, an instant easy starter, less routine maintenance and much cleaner in use.Read full review

Having had a smaller Greenworks battery mower for a few years we found that it was excellent after the first cut of the Spring. It struggled a little with long damp grass and so we decided to upgrade to the GMAX model. It arrived in time for the first cut of Spring. On the lowest setting, whilst it cut evenly, the lawn still looked as if it needed cutting. After contacting the supplier it was pointed out that the minimum cutting height for this mower was 35mm. This length of grass is more suited to a playing field than a lawn and we are very disappointed with it, particularly as it is not cheap.

The best thing about this lawnmower is its wide cut. The worst things for me were that : 1. It really struggles in longer or even slightly damp grass. 2. I had to constantly unblock it. 3. The height adjustments were not low enough for a tidy looking lawn. I have sold it on at a big loss and bought a very efficient petrol mower of a similar width at half the price.

This is a good product. Light easy to push quiet and good battery life. Biggest problem is the height of cut. The lowest level of cut still leaves the lawn like it needs cutting again. That’s why 3 stars.
