Currently I have this device connected to an X60 ThinkPad that is retasked as a firewall running pfSense/FreeBSD, it's on a USB2.0 port and set as a LAN device, with iperf server running on pfSense and an iperf client on a seperate box connected to LAN; I consistently get approximately 93.0 Mbits/sec. Not blazing fast, but not incredibly slow either, bear in mind that is on USB2.0, so perhaps you'll see higher speeds on USB3.0 (I don't have a machine with such a connector to test throughput). This USB NIC helped out as a temporary solution pending PCMCIA NIC, obviously this is not an ideal setup, but it works. That it's recognized and has good drivers on Unix will most likely mean you'll find it'll work on just about everything else. On build quality, it's solid and well made, the connectors are okay and fit home without issue, no loosey-goosey etc.Read full review

Most of the new laptops do not have the standard RJ45 input for internet connection. This is where this product comes in handy. I like the fact that is small enough to carry in a laptop backpack. The quality of the product is very high. The price and features makes it more attractive compared to other similar products that can be bought from an local store. I kindly recommend it.

Having just bought a new MacBook Pro, I needed to get an ethernet adaptor as I prefer wired to wireless connectivity. I looked at a few and plumped for this one. I'm glad I did - it does the job, connecting the MacBook to the LAN - works well. Having the "standard" USB ports is a bonus - I can use my old (but comfortable) cabled USB mouse, so that's sorted. I found a bonus feature - it also has an "LPSS Serial Adaptor" built in. Now occasionally I have to connect to various serial devices to configure them - I haven't tried this yet - but I'm hoping it'll save me carting around another cable and adaptor. Good value for money, I'd say.

I have had cheaper ones of these and this one is worth the extra money for its build quality. Just plugged in and worked straight away. Recommended.
