This is a convenient way of lighting and heating a small bathroom as the 750W heater can go on the lighting circuit. However, on my item the metal stays that hold the thing together are spot welded whilst in the past the ones I had were drilled and bolted which is much stronger. On my item one of the spot welded stays came adrift when fitting so the item is rather wobbly when using the stiff pull cord. On the plus side the item is pretty good value so it's not worth sending back. I'll buy another one if it becomes a problem.

Compared to the original version of this heater [c.1980] this one is altogether less robust and built down to a price. The original 1980's version was more elegant in design and lasted 36 years before the heater filament failed. This modern version may well do the same job equally well, but it felt and looked 'cheap' by comparison; so much so that I didn't use it in the end. Delivery was very fast.

The three way terminal block was the only problem. Surely the makers of this item should know that lighting circuits consist of three cables coming through the ceiling. One of the two cables is for lighting coming in and the second for lighting going out to the next light. The third cable is to the on off switch wherever that is. Hence when you connect the heater you need the following connections. Live, neutral, earth, switched live back from the switch. This is why you need a four way terminal block.

I have a couple of these units which have given good service. I bought this to replace one that developed a fault after being installed for a number of years. Straight forward to install.

I bought this item to replace one that had lasted instu since the 60's !!!! However the wire plan had no connection for a main switch cut off , the user has to go through the 4 switch positions to turn the devise off and it can be a little confusing for an elderly user, as it was in this case. Thank you
