This is my second one. The first sits fine with stone weights. It does dry the ground out so have to water. But when the sun is out, strong heat retention. The other is 3m away and the wind is so much worse in that short distance and it flew away over night - not far. Spo when I put it back as well as using rocks to hold it down I fashioned some hefty long pegs from wood and hammered these into the ground so they held the bottom pipes down with some PVC trapped. So far Wensleydale gales no longer making it airborne. The fixing of the PVC in this position is not good enough to keep the PVC from flapping so looking at clips (pipe?) to better hold it on though the pegs may be enough.

Firstly, supplier provides excellent service and no gripes there. Also it is easy to put together and overall looks good and functional. So whats the problem and with only 3 stars (good) given? Well it is intended to protect your precious plantings in the outside world with whatever the weather will bring and I believe I am guessing right that you want it to last a fair number of seasons (for convenience, labour saving and not wasting money - disposable short life items have there uses, but not here). The frame is reasonably sturdy and easy to plug together. The real problem is the plastic sheet covering with poor seams, stitching and frame tie-straps (these just came off on tying). The worst part is that the plastic sheet umbrella covering is better than cling-film, but far from being 'heavy duty'. I urge the manufacturer to charge a little more and increase the density of this sheet, an immensely improved and useful, desireable product will result. Remember that a disposable coffee cup can look good and functional and be temporarily both, but longevity is not in its design and not overtly obvious, so recommended, but keep its limitations in mind and exercise caution with words in sales pitch of 'heavy duty'Read full review

I bought this knowing it would be light and could take off with the winds we get. So we made a frame and attached the cold frame to the wooden frame. Not 100% however once on the concrete with the cover on it’s fine, I did buy clips to keep the cover on, and I have big rocks against the the base. Keeps my plants safe from cold nights until they go in the ground or pots. I have put another layer of plastic just in case.. Once I have finished with it I will dismantle the hoops and store the body sideways in the shed until next year . I grow vegetable and flower seeds indoors so will use this frame to harden them off.

It is cheap and cheerful, does the job and can’t grumble at the price. Ideally could do with a filtered vent at each end. Be careful not to tie the ties too much as the can easily break. All said, a good deal at that price.
