    Good design

    Cheaper than some for this type of design. When clipped closed, does not align but can be closed as hinge not very strong. Internal plastic seed holder is v thin plastic. Time will tell if this will be detrimental. Happy with product overall for price paid. After using for a month, some rust coming through on some parts

    clever squirrels

    I hoped this would stop the squirrels from getting to the bird seed in the feeders, but alas they have figured out that they could get at the seed by hanging on to the cage style cover and just reaching in and grabbing the seed with their claws and stuffing it into their mouth. The birds are not too confident using the feeders as they have to fly into the cage before they can get to the seed so its back to the original feeders, then at least the birds can get some of the seeds.

    Beware of supper squirrels

    Nice item but my squirrels prized the lid off and when I fixed it with wire then when they couldent get in they lifted the feeder off the twig dropped it to the ground and fed off the spill. So fix the lid with wire and fix the handle to twig wit wire and it will be fine. Dont forget this is a low cost feeder that should last with care, unless the squirrels go to the gym and work out!

    They work.

    I have had this type before and it does deter squirrels and it is fun watching them try to get the seed. However, they do eventually gnaw away the perches.

    Not quite squirrel proof

    I purchased 2 of these to replace 2 I had used for a few years and which were coming to the end of their days. One of the feeders which sadly I had used before realising is very loose where the clip fastens the lid to the main frame. Our clever squirrel the other day was observed lifting the lid and eating my expensive sunflower hearts. I am not amused. In the hope of fooling it I have had to fasten the lid to the main frame of the feeder. I hope this works. Time will tell. Had I realised the problem before using it I would have returned it. However the other feeder is perfect.
