The guard arrived very quickly and was just what I wanted after seeing my toy poodle puppy arranging the coals. The fire guard is presently being used as a fire screen. It is very attractive to look at and will be very useful in winter when I have the fire on. The fact that it can be folded up and put away is another added advantage to owning this type of guard. I would recommend anyone purchasing this item.

I had to reassemble this item when it arrived. It is beautiful to look at and being on the smaller side is neat and tidy. However it is flimsy and some of the screws are misaligned. It seems from the reviews it’s a bit hit and miss regarding the quality, you may be lucky and receive it in one piece. The quality is reflected in the low cost of this item and it does look lovely once in one piece!

Although we were pleased with the product, we did have to dismantle it and straighten one of the uprights. This was not an easy procedure and if you have to do the same, use sticky tape to hold things in place when you come to put it back together

It's a little bit flimsy, but attractive and excellent value. I attached a pair of "Double D Rings" (Hobbycraft Product code: 564439 £1.70) to my fire surround so that I can loop the rings over the top of the fire screen to hold it securely in place when my granddaughter visits.
