Fixing hole spacing differed from the 20 year old brass friedland illuminated bell push it was replacing, though overall size & appearance the same. Don't know why they don't use an led rather than a bulb these days even if transformer feed voltage is AC -that's what a diode does. Maybe too much money to be made in replacement bulbs?

The contacts and light are inside a neat little sealed unit unlike the old one which has spring contacts exposed. Easy to fit with same hole spacing as old one.

Just like the original, except they now appear to have LED illumination, so the light should last a lot longer. Also got a new feature where the bell push itself pops out of the bit you screw to the wall, making it easier to wire up. The black cover holds it in place.

Very well designed.Easy to install and felt more robust than the average makes that are cheaper but flimsy. P.S. I am a retired Approved Electrician.Remember that a suitable electrical transformer is required for this product to work with the neon highlighter around the actual push button.

Remains permanently lit (except when the bell-push is pressed). Pity that the lamp is incandesant not a led, but I guess the (nesessary) inclusion of a spike suppressor in the circuit will add to the cost. With a good old fashion bulb, the bulb lasts about 4 years, not the 10 years I had hoped for.
