I have owned a pair of ProAcStudio 125s from new in 2005 and recently considered upgrading to the recently discontinued Studio 148 which I understand ProAc have stopped making since the margins were uneconomic at a RRP of £2,000 due to the European-sourced drive units. I had the opportunity to demo the speakers at home and was staggered by the difference between the 148 (a design less than 5 years old) and the 125 (designed around 2001). The 125s simply left the 148s for dead for transparency and mid-band/upper presentation with a genuine soundstage where the enclosures disappeared. In comparison the 148s sounded boxy and slightly harsh (though not as bad as PMC!) – in fact the only area in which the 148 was superior was efficiency it being very easy to drive. It would seem that you would need to consider the more expensive Response range to find an improvement over the 125.Read full review

The most amazing speaker I have heard. The treble and mid are better than the higher priced proacs, absolutely a must for those who love classical or acoustic music

One of the best speakers for money. Exellent sound, typical for proacs. Very natural with solid bass. Easy to set up in your room. Superb patnter to a naim/linn systems or valve amps. High recomendation!
